STYLE
- clothing: jeans and t-shirts. mostly black jeans, as tight in the leg as I can find. (which isn't very these days *sigh*) lots of purple and black. jeweltones if I can find them, otherwise black. and yet more purple and black. :-) boots. (or sandles in the summer) high cut, often shapeless, shirts for work. low cut silly stuff for parties.
- music: rarely. I should listen to more music.
- makeup: I go through phases of wearing a lot of glittery purple nailpolish when I'm not at work. I used to *try* to remember to wear lipstick to work, but I never could.
- body art: I've never found a design I would want permanently, but I used to draw all over myself when I got bored.
RIGHT NOW
- wearing: why would I wear clothes in the house in hot weather?
- music: the hum of numerous computers
- thinking of: what I'm writing
- feeling: weekend inertia
LAST THING YOU...
- bought: dinner for Chip on Thursday
- read: Ursula Le Guin's new book, The Telling
- watched on tv: what's that?
EITHER / OR
- club or houseparty: houseparty
- tea or coffee: tea
- high achiever or easy-going: definite under-achiever
- cats or dogs: cats, but only in *other* people's houses :-)
- pen or pencil: pen
- cassette or cd: cd.
- coke or pepsi: ick. only if I am *truly* desperate for caffeine.
WHO DO YOU WANT TO...
- kill: huh? sounds like a poor idea all around.
- hear from: the parent of a child who was in my class last year, whom I think I inadvertently really annoyed by my reply to her email a few days ago.
- look like: me. only with way longer hair (and probably thinner, but I'm working on getting over that...)
- be like: me, but way more self-confident (and a lot smarter, but maybe saying that in itself is a product of lack of self confidence...)
FAVORITE
- food: sushi
- drink: chai
- color: purple :-)
- album: depends on my mood, but probably Ani DiFranco's Not a Pretty Girl, even though it has some songs on it I don't like.
- shoes: my docs of course!
- site: lj, as evidenced by the amount of time I spend here
- song: wildly mood dependent, but probably Ani DiFranco's "Swan Dive"
- vegetable: beets! they dye everything they touch purple :-)
- last movie you saw: I can't remember
- last phone number you called: Chip's cellphone; no wait, I tried to call Ayesha this morning to see if she wanted to go to brunch, but no one answered at her house.
- last thing you had to drink: water,in copious quantities. I think I may very, very soon get over my aversion to frequent air-conditioner use in mid-September.
- last thing you ate: cereal this morning. yay Chip for getting milk! :-)
- last time you showered: yesterday morning. at some point I need to stop playing with lj and actually get showered.
- last time you cried: Thursday
- last time you smiled: about three seconds ago
- last time you laughed: ditto
- last person you hugged: Chip
- last person you kissed: Chip
- last person you talked to online: I don't remember. These days I don't even send a lot of email.
DO YOU...
- smoke: no
- do drugs: no
- sleep with stuffed animals: no
- have a crush: generally several at any given time

- play an instrument: no. I tried unsuccessfully to learn several instruments as a kid.
- read the newspaper: often
- have any gay or lesbian friends: many
- believe in miracles: sometimes :-)
- believe it's possible to remain faithful forever: absolutely. :-) (but the way the mundanes mean this is just icky.)
- consider yourself tolerant of others: yes (but after all, most people do, whether or not others would actually feel that they are... for, example, my last comment, above, was probably excessively snarky.)
- consider police a friend or foe: I think I still more or less look like someone they think they should be protecting, (20 to 40ish white woman, not dressed all that scarily) hence they are always nice to me. That doesn't really answer the question tho... When they are doing their job, friend, when they are abusing their power, foe. This is, of course, completely subjective.
- like the taste of alcohol: no. not unless it is really sweet or mixed with something sweet.
DO YOU
- believe in astrology: not in the way my kind of irritating Seattle roommates did. lots of people I respect and think are highly possessed of clue get into geeking at it to some degree though, so I try to suspend disbelief a little.
- believe in magic: yes, sometimes.

- have any piercings: two in each earlobe.
- hate yourself: sometimes. *sigh* less than I used to though.
- wish on stars: occasionally.
- like your handwriting: I don't really think about it much. Sometimes it is fun to see how small I can write or to play with fancy scripts.
- believe in witches: yes.
- believe in Satan: no. evil, yes. Satan, no.
- believe in ghosts: sometimes.
- trust others easily: sometimes. I wish I did more.
- like sarcasm: when it amuses me. (a rather circular answer, that.)
- take walks in the rain: sometimes. I like misty rain a lot, but one doesn't get it here the way one does in Seattle.
- kiss with your eyes closed: often. :-)
- sing in the shower: occasionally. either when I'm in a really good mood or infected with an unusually persistant song virus.
and another list
your live journal "user name" & what it means: gosling. it's what Chip and a few of my Seattle friends sometimes call me. it had a long evolution.
on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your livejournal represent who you actually are? maybe 5. I share a lot sometimes, but I also often decide I am being too whiny or that something I wanted to mention would be serious oversharing, so a lot gets left out too.
how much about your life do you post to lj? see above.
is there anything you refuse to post about? probably. but then I wouldn't be posting about it here, now would I? :-)
on a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others? hard to say. I like to think it is interesting, at least some of the time... :-)
from who/how did you find out about lj? lots of my friends had lj accounts long before I did, so I don't remember who first told me about it.
has anyone ever joined lj because of you? not that I know of.
what proportion of your posts are friends only? a fair amount of them, mostly because a lot of them mention (at least peripherally) stuff that I would never want Chip's family or my coworkers to stumble across.
what is your favorite interest on lj? good question. :-)
Has anything on lj ever caused you to establish, rethink, or even change your belief or position on something? a little bit, mostly about what is prudent to post on lj.
how often do you respond / comment on other peoples journals? not as often as I'd like to. I read a lot more than I write.
do you prefer to write in your journal, read other journals? definitely read. I love hearing what is going on in my friends' lives. :-)
have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on lj (or did it to someone else)? no. (I suppose that's not strictly true. someone did once say something kind of mean to me, but I don't think she intended it to be mean.)
have you ever banned someone from your journal? no.
who are your favorite lj friend(s) and why? I don't really have a favorite.
how many of your LJ friends have you actually met? all. I use it mostly to keep up with what is going on in my friends' lives and give them snippets of mine. There are a couple of people I don't know all that well who are on my friends list because they say such cool stuff, but they are all people I know.
of all of the people on lj you know of, who is the most like you? not sure. there are several people who say a lot of things I can really identify with, but all of them have ways in which they seem quite different from me too.
why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list? because they are someone whose life I want to keep in touch with more.
do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first? no. (but generally I do, because it is often how I find out they have a lj account, and it is an easy way to get snapshots of what is going on in my friends' lives.)
what is the most likely reason you wouldn't add someone to your friends list? if I didn't know them, or didn't know them that well. I am getting more selective about whom I add, just because I have reached the point where the volume is rapidly increasing beyond what I can easily read in a few minutes. So now I generally only add people who are actually friends, as opposed to friendly acquaintances. But the line is really fuzzy, and mostly really I just add people on a whim, and never take anyone off (at least I haven't yet) because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
is your "significant other" on lj? yep.
have you ever wanted to meet someone on lj? yes, occasionally.
