(I am not actually all that fond of storms, but the associated cold front would be most desirable right about now... or a while ago, for that matter.)

I was wondering that myself. It's 8:45 now and does seem to be cooling and there's a good breeze. Hope that means a cold front is on its way.

well, right around sunset, the wind shifted dramatically out in the harbor and picked right up with some angry clouds coming behind it.

my hunch is that the storms are delayed if they're coming at all.
