Aug. 12th, 2002 11:28 amWhen Chip gets back from a job interview (he's been there a while... hopefully a good sign) we are heading to NY and NJ for the week. (Hopefully we get to take the train. I love trains. But it will depend on how well Chip's return time matches up with the train schedule, since it *would* be a lot faster (though way less fun) to drive the first leg of the trip.)
First leg is to my parents' house at the far northern end of the NY suburbs. (2.5 hours by car the way Chip drives, as long as we get out ahead of rush hour. About 3.35 hours on the actual train (we get picked up at Stamford) but another 1.5 allowed to get to South Station by T and get tickets and then the wait for my mom to show up at the other end.) Primary task is to help my mom in shoveling out tons of cruft that's been there for about 33 years (hasn't been cleaned in almost that long either. there's another arguement for taking the car, I suppose. all our stuff can stay in the car and won't need serious scrubbing after we get back.)
After I can't stand one more minute of plague conditions (or Thursday AM, whichever comes first) we head down to visit folks in NJ.
And then back here on Friday.
Now I had better go be scrubbed and dressed by the time Chip gets back. Hmm... interview this long is a good sign... (of sorts...the job is way part time and not stuff he's interested in. but hey, it's something, and at least with part time he won't be there fourteen hours a day... we shall see...)
