this weekend
Mar. 23rd, 2003 03:38 pmToday
ceo and I had an absolutely wonderful brunch at The Tea Tray In The Sky in Arlington with
lyonesse and RD. It was really, really, really good to get to hang out with them. (And the food was excellent. I think this has become my new favorite brunch place.)
Then I tried unsuccessfully (yet again) to find some paperwork for a meeting I have early tomorrow morning, paperwork I am beginning to suspect does not exist, given how carefully I generally file things and how throughly I have searched.
Yesterday
ceo and I had gone to
aroraborealis's craft day and drawn a tentative design for the quilt we are making for my sister's baby. Today we looked at the design again and liked it even better, so it looks like we have decided what we want the quilt to look like. Next, to find fabric for it (this was planned for today, but got pushed off the queue when I ended up spending so long looking for the non-existant paperwork.)
Does anyone have recommendations on the places most likely to have cotton fabric in bright jewel tones? The design is an abstract diagonal rainbow, composed of simple squares (as we figured for our first quilt we had best do something simple.) The back will probably be either plain purple or lavender, unless we find something really cool that looks excellent for a baby and is keeping with my sister's taste. (She really liked the design when I described it, which didn't surprise me as she loves purples and jewel-tones and rainbow things, but I wanted to verify it before I actually got fabric.) I may also look for jungle animals for the back, as they are also apparently doing a theme of sorts of jungle animals.
