The pump has almost no suction (yes I checked all the connections and tried to clean it etc.) I'm on the verge of mastitis I think and Chip has probably celulitis. Does anyone have a double electric breastpump I can borrow?

help?

EDIT: Even a handpump (but show me how to use it) or a nursing baby or toddler you are willing to let me nurse who would be willing to co-operate. I really can't get mastitis right now.

EDIT TWO: I figured out what was wrong. The broken dishwasher had stuck the backflow valves down with gummy cruft. Now it works fine. (except for the milk in the pump tubes)

ok, from what little I can get from Chip's horrid phone connection, the cellulitis is definitely getting worse. (That part I am sure of; the rest got lost in static.) This implies the antibiotics aren't working.

Those offers of help? It looks like we may need them, although I am not sure what we may need. I suspect he will be in the hospital overnight. (He has the car, because he insisted on driving, so that will complicate things.) I can't REACH him long enough to be sure of anything yet.

The pump KEEPS pulling milk into it, even with a new set of tubes and pump bits. It never did this before. I THINK I managed to turn it off quickly enough to keep it from shorting out.

I CANNOT get mastitis. I can't even get a serious clogged duct.

I would give a frightening amount not to be dependent on a piece of machinery.

(And yes, I am terrified about Chip too. Very.)

The baby, unsurprisingly, is a wreck. Falling apart is not one of my available options.

Thank any diety of one's choice, Chip is A LOT better than communicated over the faulty cell connection. They even let him go home for now.

This roller coaster brought to you by faulty technology of various sorts. I am sure there will be further installments to come.

I don't want to be a grown-up any more, and I appear to be doing an appallingly bad imitation of one at the moment.

(The cellulitis *is* getting worse, but I guess they are not all that concerned for now. Apparently some of the antibiotics take a while to work.)
