Today Benjamin drew two backhoes. He was very clear on what they were and wanted me to label them on the paper. I'm immensely amused that his first representational drawing was a construction vehicle.

(Clearly I need a more current Benjamin icon too. This one is over a year old.)

This would be pump number three.

Why yes, moving parts wear out despite any advertising hype to the contrary.

To my serious lack of astonishment, each version is more flimsy than the previous one, and, as far as I can tell, the tubes are not backward compatible despite pump two and pump three theoretically being the same model.
