Lessons learned from previous Arisias:

Pack lightly! Less stuff to carry this year made everything *much* easier on both Friday and Sunday, especially Sunday. We still had everything we needed (except food) and I still had more pretty clothes than I even had the opportunity to wear.

Everything takes way more time than it seems like it should. Allow for that. (This was the least frantic Sunday morning getting-out-of-the-room ever. Less stress makes for a far happier small goose.)

Lessons learned for next Arisia:

Bring food to keep in the room. The one annoying thing about an otherwise fabulous weekend was that we (me especially) kept suddenly really needing to eat Right Now and having to run around all over trying to find food.

It works better when Chip changes into his pretty clothes *before* tech rehearsal, because he never gets around to it otherwise.

also, a small stash of powerbar type things is very helpful.

Absolutely. That's the sort of thing I had in mind. And granola bars and crackers. Anything that keeps well, is easy to transport and isn't messy.

Absolutely. We brought peanut butter crackers for the same reason. It's usually easy to find sweets around the con, harder to find something quick and savory to tide you over until you can get a real meal. Keeping hydrated helps a lot too.

I brought a 6-pack of high-protein Boost this time. It was a lifesaver. Water, protein, sugar, vitamins, chocolate flavor, in a can.
