Lots of sirens outside a few minutes ago, and the strong smell of what I suspect is burning house, not all that far away. (Chip suspects less than a couple blocks away.)

Very not good.

It's certainly far enough away that I'm not worried about my house. However, Chip's estimate of location was very near our friend's house on Pearson. I don't smell smoke any more, so I'm guessing the fire is out. When I'm pretty sure I won't be in the way of the firefighters, I'm going to wander over there and see what I see.
