Lots of sirens outside a few minutes ago, and the strong smell of what I suspect is burning house, not all that far away. (Chip suspects less than a couple blocks away.)

Very not good.

eeeek! I know someone on Pearson Ave.; hope it's not his place. And I hope it's far enough away from your place for you not to worry. :-/

It's certainly far enough away that I'm not worried about my house. However, Chip's estimate of location was very near our friend's house on Pearson. I don't smell smoke any more, so I'm guessing the fire is out. When I'm pretty sure I won't be in the way of the firefighters, I'm going to wander over there and see what I see.
