i'll bet what you heard yesterday was the trucks in the neighborhood for our trash (a day late) picking up any extras they found outside in the other neighborhoods? (meaning they alwasy expected to do the full run today.)
If you were a garbage man driving by on Tuesday and saw stuff on the street that people weren't actually supposed to put out until Wednesday, would you leave it there for 24 hours before picking it up? I'd grumble about it, perhaps, but I wouldn't leave it there just to make a point (at least, if it's a week with an unclear schedule and people aren't going to make the mistake all the time).
I don't know, but because of your post yesterday I was pretty nervous that they might pick up today (usual trash day). But none, NONE of my neighbors put their trash out this morning, so I didn't either. And this evening a lot of the neighbors have put theirs out. So I'm guessing that if the trucks don't come tomorrow, there's going to be quite the outcry.
It must be nice to have standards. I live in southern California and I have yet to figure out any rhyme or reason to when our trash collection gets delayed.
So did I. That's why I was surprised that the garbage had clearly been picked up on Tuesday. (Empty trash cans etc. that I had seen full earlier that morning.) I thought maybe there was a new policy for a new year.
