I was just standing in my kitchen. The dishwasher, dryer, microwave, refrigerator and electric light were all simultaneously in operation. My toddler was standing next to me, a keyboard in one hand...

...and an organic carrot tightly clenched in the other.

It occurs to me that all but one of those electrical appliances were directly involved infrastructure for the extraction, storage and feeding of breastmilk for the baby.

Dishwasher: Washing bottles and pumping equipment.
Light: So I could see well enough on a very foggy day to transfer milk from the storage bottles to the feeding bottles without spilling it.
Microwave: Steam sterilizing storage bottles and lids.
Refrigerator: Storage of milk. (Although the large one in the kitchen generally only has milk in it when it is being used as temporary milk storage. There is a tiny dedicated milk fridge in the living room.)

And the dryer was drying all the clothes after the spit-up breastmilk had been washed out of them? ;)

It wasn't, but it could have been. :-)

(Although there were certainly clothes of his in there, because there are *always* clothes of his in every load of laundry.)
