I stopped doing the posting of good things, because it was just sounding too insipid to me. I'm not sure it actually was, however. Perhaps I just have too much of a fear of sounding like an idiot. It seems likely, really.

What do other folks think? Did they tend to sound insipid, or did they make my lj sound less cranky? Am I completely missing the point? (Possibly.) I suspect mileage is going to vary on this a lot, but I am curious.

They certainly didn't make you sound like an idiot to me. I *like* reading things like you've been posting. On the other hand, I rarely have anything to say in return, other than "hee!", so I often don't say anything at all.

I enjoyed reading them, personally.

It's why I do the + - thing so I can post some of both and sound more realistic.

Sweetie, you should post what you want to post. Your reasons are your own. You just might want to remember happy stuff or you might want advice. Or you might want sympathy. Or you might want to let people know that's there's crafty mischief afoot.

That's what filters are for. If you're worried that you might be boring or depressing or annoying your audience, consider setting up an opt-in filter.

I know you know this stuff already (heck, you were the one who introduced ME to LJ) but maybe it helps to hear it again. ;-)

Good things are good! Post them if you want to. (-:

I find I tend to get in a rut where I only LJ to complain about bad stuff. Reading back, it looks like my life was very stressful and depressing. So when I post about happy things, that reminds me that there is a balance.

Post whatever you want to post. It's *your* LJ, and people are free to read or not, as they see fit.
