Yesterday I went to McIntyre and Moore, the used bookstore in Davis Square, and, exercising great restraint, escaped with only two books. Today I just had to go back the very minute they opened in the morning and get the third one that I had virtuously left behind.

But I only got one. Not more. Not even one of all the brightly colored children's books Benjamin liked so much. That still counts as self-restraint, right?

(Or maybe it just says I can only exercise self-restraint on my kid's behalf...)

When people are going all out to exercise self restraint, it's so much fun to sneak up on them and poke them in the shoulder. ('course, easy for me to talk since I have an outlet for that kind of urge - the book bins at Goodwill across from M&M's).
