So I went into the bookstore on my way home for "just a minute" to get out of the heinous heat and emerged hours later... Amazingly they didn't even get cranky at me for reading an entire book in the time I was there...

especially when the power KEEPS going out, out here in the ass end of nowhere. it's gone out THREE times in the last 24 hours that we know of, and probably more, as the UPS was more or less at the drained battery stage when chip got home this afternoon. this is getting old.

Well, it might be a quieter end of town but it's still suburban character in an urban town. I admit I am kinda surprised - unless the power outages are based on short supply, in which case I feel obligated to mention I had the AC on today.
