a most excellent day at work
Oct. 31st, 2003 10:13 pmI think I had as much fun as the kids today.
They got to get their faces painted, and then we took them out trick or treating to all the stores near the school. (We arranged ahead of time with some of the stores, and then as we passed other stores the people who worked there would run out with baskets of candy.)
Then we walked down Vassar Street past all the construction (which of course the kids loved) to the office of one of the parents, who had set up this long trail of pumpkins in the corridors all the way from the elevators to her office. (She had a really great time with it, and she said that her collegues kept following the pumpkin trail to her office. I think everyone there was amused, and they were all really nice to the kids.)
And the weather was perfect, and there were lots of adults in costume out on the street as we were walking along, which added to the magic of the whole experience for the kids.
It makes up for all the far more challenging days...
