I'm such a bitch in hot weather...
Jul. 4th, 2002 08:24 amI kept snapping at poor Chip, who is nothing but sweet and even tempered, even in this vile weather. (Everyone should be nice to him. Always. Especially me.) And I was cranky in general.
Some of it was disappointment too. I love love love swimming, and yesterday evening, as soon as I submerged my head, I suddenly had this rather sharp pain in my right ear. (I thought that ear infection had gone AWAY. And maybe it had until yesterday. Certainly I didn't have any symptoms of anything all day yesterday until then.)
So we decided, ok, we'll go to OPN, lots of people will be there hiding in the air conditioning AND since I don't have to work at heinous awful hours then next morning we can stay as late as we want. But I think everyone was out at movies.... *sigh*
So I was one right cranky little goose.
But at least the power didn't go out. :-)
Although the UPS on my computer seemed to think it was out. It was rather bizarre to walk into a house where the power seems to be working fine but the UPS is screaming and the computer hooked up to it has been running off the UPS for who knows how long and crashes ten miutes later.
But I THINK that is fixed now. Chip thought maybe that the power was coming in at a lower voltage than usual, because once he changed the setting on the UPS to accommodate a lower voltage than it had before, it stopped screaming at us and didn't try to run everything off its battery any more. And I noticed that the lights did look rather dim. (subjective measurement though; at that point I expected them to) And when the washing machine finished doing its thing, the clothes definitely were damper than they usually are, which suggested to me that maybe the spin cycle hadn't been nearly as enthusiastic as it usually is.

Date: 2002-07-04 08:01 am (UTC)While I agree with you (your Chip is one of the sweetest people, especially male people, I have ever met, and in general it's actually more, not less, important for spouses to try to be nice to each other) I'm pretty sure he understands, sweetie.
*hug* feel better.
