Saturday, Very Very Early, Chip and I leave for Seattle. :-)

At first I was being a tad cranky because there was a party here we really, really, really wanted to go to, and we weren't able to change our plane tickets to leave Sunday or Monday. (Chip would probably say I was being Most Grumpy Indeed. Actually he wouldn't say that because he is utterly sweet and wonderful and very very rarely says bitchy things about me, even when I most right royally deserve them.)

But now I am starting to get excited about going, and the ratio of excited to cranky is getting higher and higher.

I lived in Seattle for years. It is lovely and beautiful and sometimes I miss it a bit. (Mostly I miss the job I had before I left, which just rocked.)

But I'm still really, really, really glad I'm here. :-)

But Seattle... Last time I was back there was two years ago, when Chip and I went there on our honeymoon. (Then we got to ride the train down to SF, which was really really fun and the best part of the whole trip. But I digress. (Frequently.)) :-) We had a great time in Seattle, and there were lots of cool things I wanted to show him or do that we didn't have time for. So perhaps we will get to do them this time. :-)

Mostly we are going for the wedding of our friends James and Karen, but that is not until the following Saturday. (Then we fly back on the 4th. By then I will miss folks lots and be very excited to be going home.) James and Karen are cool. I've known James for years and he was one of my very bestest friends in Seattle. And I've known Karen for even longer. (And Chip knows her in a totally different context. She was the one person he knew in Seattle when we first met, and there is a rather silly and amusing story about this I shall tell at some point. But not tonight. Tonight I shall now resume the Lengthy List of That Which Must Be Done Before Departure.)

I'm sorry you couldn't reschedule your tickets. It sounds like you're going to have a wonderful time though. We ended up using the tickets we were discussing at craftnite. We couldn't book anything to Seattle :-( but we're going to San Francisco instead! :-)

SF and the surrounding areas are awesome. (I used to live in Berkeley. I have a Long List of Nifty Things to See, only a small fraction of which Chip and I actually did when we were there two years ago...)

I'm reminded I should email you to ask about Nifty Things To See in Berkeley. Since I'll be there, and all.
