Apparently I have entered the constantly hungry stage of pregnancy.

While it has definite perks, this could get annoying. ("Didn't I just eat an hour ago? I'm busy!")

Time to start carrying granola bars and suchlike. (I will happily take suggestions for (non-messy!) things to carry around.)

Dried fruit as constipation is one of those side effects of pregnancy.

No more nausea, then, I take it? How I look forward to that!

oh, there's still nausea. lots of it. but if I don't eat it gets much worse. (I never understood the thing that they say about being simultaneously hungry and nauseous before.)

but presumably the nausea will eventually go away.

Dried fruit is good, especially figs (high in iron) and apricots (high in folic acid). But make sure to drink enough water, otherwise dried fruit is actually constipating. (Of course, you should be anyway.)

I LIVED on Luna Bars and Clif bars through my pregnancy. Kinda pricey though.

Nuts are good. I liked getting boxes of those little minipacks of peanuts and stash them in my desk, glove compartment, brief case, etc. Also sunflower seed and pumpkin seeds/pepitos.

If you are trying to mainline protein like I did, jerky is good. I only did beef jerky, but I've heard good things about salmon and turkey jerky for the less red-meat inclined.

Trader Joe's is a great source for semi-healthy tasty snacks not terribly expensive.

Cheese and crackers, maybe? I'd suggest nut butter and crackers, but the last I heard was that they were suggesting pregnant women *not* overdo nuts, as there's some concern that this could be behind the increasing numbers of kids w/severe nut allergies. I also second a trip to TJ's to see what they have. (As a matter of fact, I have a bottle of blueberry juice here with your name on it--when could I drop it off? I stopped by around 7ish, but you weren't home...)
