I finally figured out what the Treeshredder Of Early Morning Wakefulness was primarily intended for. There is, or should I say was, a beautiful tree in the neighbor's yard that provided shade for much of our yard. It is now almost entirely turned into sawdust and noise.

And one of the morons with a chainsaw arborists is now in our backyard cutting up the parts of the tree that stick out over it, and throwing them into the neighbor's yard. Maybe he'll accidentally knock down our crumbling, rotted fence that divides the two yards, so they'll have to replace it. :-)

Sounds like the sort of folks that my mom referred to as cement-heads. Time to plant your own trees!

Maybe it was diseased in a non-obvious way?

*trying hard*

the same thing just happened to my yard! lovely trees in my neighbor's yard which shaded the driveway and caused my car not to boil when parked have all disappeared. dyeing tomorrow in the driveway will be much less pleasant as a result :-(

Exactly what I'd expect from the nyetkulturny in your neighborhood.

What's next, paving the front yard?

I see your Morons With Chainsaw and raise you Mooks with Jackhammer. The Awful Neighbors (of course) are doing something involving their pool infrastructure, I suspect, given the sunken water level and general unhappy look to their pool. It's a good thing that I'm not trying to do some focus-intensive task here today. Where's a thermite grenade when I need one? Time to flee!
