Cellulitis update

Meanwhile, Chip is now on a new antibiotic, and apparently if he has not shown some unspecified degree of improvement when he shows up for tomorrow morning's dose of IV antibiotics the next step is hospitalization.

Today's awesomeness:
Breakfast with [livejournal.com profile] lyonesse (which actually lasted well into lunchtime!). It was so fabulous to get to chat with her for several hours! :-)

Extra bonus good thing:
The kids fell asleep soon into our return journey, so Chip and I got lots of time to talk without interruption.

(Giggling and gossiping and silliness, oh my...). :-)

Today's good thing:

Chip and I singing along with music I really like on the way home. I haven't done that for far too long!

If one more relative tells embarrassing stories from my youth I don't even remember or looks askance at me for actually eating food (rather than I suppose attempting to subsist solely by photosynthesis) I may just lose my mind

Just leaving the memorial for my friend Beth. Weird mingling of lots of tears and a reunion with college friends I haven't seen for 25 years.

So apparently I am far too mannerly to actually say "fuck no" (or even a far more ladylike version of the same) when medical people make suggestions I find deeply problematic. Not that I have any intention of actually doing what was suggested; I just don't see any need to get in lengthy arguments either.

(I *was* in a really good mood until now though... Trying to get back to that cheerful space by sheer will...)

Waiting in the hospital. My friend Beth was just declared brain dead. I don't even know what to feel or how to support her partner Alyssa (who I don't even really know). Think I am still numb even though I knew yesterday this is what was likely to happen.

Bumper sticker on the car in front of me a few minutes ago: "Love doesn't claim possession but gives freedom". This. So very this. My entire being is organized around this so very fiercely that it doesn't even have words, just raw emotion.
