It turns out that the pumping equipment is all too light to stay in place well enough to be effectively cleaned by the dishwasher, even when initially secured as tightly as I can manage by the clips attached to the dishwasher designed for securing light items. Some if it is small enough to fall through also.

(Washing pumping equipment was the primary reason for purchasing the dishwasher.)

Time to improvise something that attaches easily enough to use with one hand (with the baby on the other arm) and does not fall apart during the wash cycle... (My first thought was twist ties, but the paper will disintegrate.)

And on the penny-pincher front, thin nylon stockings hold all sorts of things - tie the open end to something that doesn't move. May not be feasable with baby on one arm.
